Cost of the MTA Certifications in Nigeria 2022

MTA certifications, like many other Microsoft certifications, come in categories, and the amount it goes for depends on the examination to be written to obtain the certification. MTA addresses an extensive range of critical technology concepts with examinations that are designed to evaluate and validate core technical concepts in three primary areas: Developer, Database, and IT Professional.

Generally, MTA is an entry-level Microsoft certification and is currently provided for about 14 courses. The MTA examinations fee in Nigeria is between $60 and $80 per examination, which is estimated to be anything between 23,000 Naira and 30,000 Naira in Nigeria. It should be noted, however, that Microsoft Associate certifications require either one or two examinations, depending on the level of the candidate. This means certifications in this category could cost anything between $165 and $300, which estimates to be between 64,000 Naira and 120,000 Naira depending on the exchange rate.

MTA Certifications Path in Nigeria

There is no certification path for MTA. Once you pass any of the above exams you get an MTA certification. MTA exams do not qualify for MCP certification, nor are they a prerequisite for MCSA or MCSD certification.

To earn the Database Fundamental certification, the candidates are expected to pass the corresponding examination.


The Developer MTA certifications are designed for individuals that want to build and develop their career as software developers. Candidates are advised to initiate the process with this MTA in Software Development Fundamentals and then pick the additional topics to further help them meet their career objective goals. As Microsoft continues to invest in the fundamentals and role-based learning offerings, all remaining exams associated with the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications will retire on June 30, 2022.

If you have an existing MTA certification, it will remain on your Microsoft transcript, even after the exams retire. It will remain in the active section of your transcript for two years from June 30, 2022; at that time, the certification will be moved to the “Certification History” section of your transcript.
